MTR Elizabeth line crowned Passenger Operator of the Year

The results are in, and MTR Elizabeth line has been crowned Passenger Operator of the Year in this year’s National Rail Awards.

The crème de la crème of rail awards, the National Rail Awards recognises the best in the industry, and Passenger Operator of the Year is the ultimate reward for the high performing team which has delivered exceptional results for London and the south east.

Mike Bagshaw, Managing Director of MTR Elizabeth line, said that the result is a massive achievement for all involved.

“When people think of the Elizabeth line, they think of brand new and ready to go, but there has been relentless work to deliver the end to end journey.

“A big shout out to everyone involved, particularly my MTREL colleagues and our partner, Transport for London. This award is shared with every single one of you.

“Of course, a big thank you to our customers. The 4.1 million passenger journeys each week shows a clear vote of confidence in the Elizabeth line,” Mike said.

In presenting the MTR Elizabeth line with this special award, the judges noted the challenges overcome by the operator in integrating three separate railways, and noted the strong leadership on display at London’s flagship operator.
